Although we take care to work as precise and clean as possible - we check every part we install for cracks, proper fit and damage - no one can ever be sure the engine will run properly and leak free without testing.

At Vintage Sports Car Inc. we offer our customers two options how we test their newly rebuild engines.

First we can install the motor on a custom build test stand on which we brake in cam shafts and set timing etc. The engine will be run for multiple times to make sure it works good, and that there are no leaks or other surprises for the customer.
In many cases we sent the rebuild engine back to the customer with things like mark timing etc on the engine, and the whole package ready to install.

The second option is that we not only test the engine, but also put a load on it. On our dynomometer we can get precise information about the combustion at different load and rpm levels. The jetting, cam and ignition timing can be set according to the future use of the engine. This option is mostly used for race engines, and engines that underwent significant power upgrades at our shop.

We use special brake in oil for all new engines, and inspect the oil filters after the test sessions are done.
